Our Approach to Learning
At Discovery Nursery, learning is an exciting journey shaped by curiosity, creativity, and care. We create rich environments and thoughtful learning invitations that encourage children to explore, discover, investigate, enquire, unearth, and detect. Every space, indoors and outdoors, is designed to spark imagination and inspire children to think, question, and engage with the world around them.
Our approach brings together children and practitioners who are imaginative, curious, adventurous, determined, and inquisitive. Together, they learn in a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported. Outdoor experiences and creative opportunities play a central role in our practice, helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning.

Our Team & Culture
We are equally passionate about supporting our team. Through regular pop-up training sessions focused on creativity and outdoor learning, we continually introduce fresh ideas into our environments. Recent developments include our sound garden, with plans underway for a sensory garden, allotment area, and a new decked space. Our team is encouraged to contribute ideas and is supported to make the most of these inspiring areas.
Building a strong, positive team culture is also important to us. Initiatives such as "Wonderful Wednesday," summer challenges, and our annual Hygge week create opportunities for connection, wellbeing, and fun, ensuring our staff feel valued and motivated.
We are proud to be an inclusive nursery where every child's individual needs are recognised and supported. Through celebrations and mini cultural events, children gain an understanding of the diverse world around them. Clear routines, consistent expectations, and a strong focus on wellbeing help children feel secure, settled, and ready to thrive. Above all, we place children's happiness, welfare, and development at the heart of everything we do.

A Typical Day
There is no single "typical" day at Discovery Nursery, because every day is shaped by the children themselves. While familiar routines provide a reassuring rhythm, each room follows its own unique flow, responding to the interests, personalities, and needs of the children within it.
Age Ranges & Rooms
We welcome children from 3 months to 4 years across four thoughtfully designed rooms, each carefully tailored to support the age, stage, and individual needs of the children within them. From the calm and cosy Retreat for our youngest babies through to the Inventors room for our oldest children, every space is created to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help children thrive.
